BRITAIN should not remain in Afghanistan a "moment longer" than they need to make the country fit for democracy, Conservative leader David Cameron said last night.

Speaking on the eve of crucial presidential elections in the country, Mr Cameron said the public needed greater reassurance over the aims of Britain's mission in Afghanistan.
