HEALTH Minister Edwina Hart yesterday threatened to seek new powers to increase alcohol prices in Wales if the next Westminster Government fails to curb problem drinking.

In a written statement, Mrs Hart vowed to tackle the "human misery" inflicted by excess alcohol consumption, and said she was in favour of a separate alcohol tax forWales if no acceptable rise on prices was agreed by MPs.
