Monmouthshire County Council has appointed property consultants Alder King to advise on the pounds 10m redevelopment of Abergavenny's 4.2 acre Cattle Market site.

An outline planning application has been submitted, for a 25,000sq ft food store, a library, a meeting room, 262 car parking spaces and 31 apartments, to include affordable housing. The council is also to refurbish the original slaughterhouse building to provide first floor apartments, with retail, bars and restaurants. Later, there will be refurbishment of the Brewery Yard.
