Summary
SIR - They say the best form of defence is attack. And, I must say, that well-known phrase has seriously gone astray with the attack by Rob Quick, the director of environmental and economic regeneration of the Vale of Glamorgan Council, on the Samaritans.
I understand that Mr Quick is quick to profess that he fears the cliffs at Southerndown will soon be recognised as a location notorious for suicide bids. To refute the figure of 10 suicides in two years is his prerogative, but surely that is not the point of debate. One suicide in this vulnerable area should be enough for any responsible council to take action. Why the delay?See the full content of this document
