Struggling fashion to home furnishings company Laura Ashley last night said it was not planning a trade sale. Over the weekend it was reported that senior executives had been discussing the future of the clothing and furnishings retailer, with a sell-off an option. However, in a Stock Market statement the retailer said, 'The board of Laura Ashley Holdings confirms that it is not in discussions with respect to the sale of the company.'
Founded in Mid Wales in 1953 by Laura and Bernard Ashley, the company floated on the Stock Exchange in 1985 and is now majority owned by Malaysian businessman Dr Khoo Kay Peng and Malayan United Industries.See the full content of this document
