Shadow Welsh Secretary Bill Wiggin, who favours abolishing the National Assembly, yesterday admitted he has no idea how much it would cost to do so. But as he took a break from campaigning in his English constituency, Mr Wiggin maintained that in no way compromised the Conservative proposal for a 'preferendum' on the Assembly's future, under which voters will decide whether it should get primary lawmaking powers, be scrapped or the status quo retained.
