CHIEF Secretary to the Treasury Danny Alexander yesterday said that powers to vary stamp duty could be on the way to the Assembly Government. The Liberal Democrat Cabinet minister said giving new fiscal powers to Cardiff Bay could boost business in Wales.
Speaking ahead of the launch of today's Welsh Liberal Democrat manifesto, he looked forward to the launch of a research project which is expected to look at giving the Assembly tax-varying powers.
