A FORMER Mr Universe and Olympic gymnast was convicted of possessing amphetamine yesterday.

David Wyn Griffiths, 44, told a court he had initially told police officers that powder they found in a bag in his car had cost him pounds 100 to keep him awake because he wanted to protect a coach described as a "household name" in coaching and rugby.
