during times of recession, coverage will inevitably focus on people losing their jobs, companies going bust and home repossessions. consequently, and because most do not disastrously feel the effects of a downturn, little consideration is given to the fate of investors.

this is a shame, because it is their capital that allows limited companies to expand, and this has been the case since the time of the dutch republic. of course, there are publications and websites that have plenty to say about where those still with money should place it. but the catastrophic failure of risk management that led us into recession has killed any trust that investors have in such advice.
