The bbc last night hit back at union claims it had misled Parliament in a row over outsourcing jobs to India. Broadcast union Bectu says the decision to outsource the BBC's internal finances to firm named Xansa will lead to job losses in Cardiff and London. The current holder of the contract, Medas, employs staff in the Welsh capital.

Yesterday both sides were locked in a row over whether the change would actually save the BBC any money. Bectu said the corporation had told different stories to MPs and staff about the reasons behind the decision.
