Bill beaumont has voiced concerns about future Lions tours possibly being nothing more than Test series shoot-outs. Beaumont, tour manager of the Lions' current 11-match trip to New Zealand, made his fears public at the post-match reception following victory over Wellington, when guests included several senior New Zealand Rugby Football Union officials.

The 2005 Lions play eight games outside of the three-Test series against the All Blacks, which starts in Christchurch on Saturday week. Around 20,000 fans are expected to travel from Britain and Ireland to support them.
