A STRING of onions and a tin of sardines may not be the usual souvenirs to be trawling back through customs but for committed foodies it can be a wrench to leave the smells and tastes of a gourmet hot spot behind In Brittany, at the port of Saint Portieux in particular, the speciality is scallops but since they don't travel well, they'll have to remain a tantalising memory.
