LEE BYRNE has spoken for the first time about his Lions heartache and his desire to make the next trip in 2013 to Australia.

After shining in the opening weeks of the tour of South Africa, the Ospreys and Wales star was selected at full-back for the first Test against the Springboks in Durban. But he had to limp out of that game with the recurrence of an old foot problem and was then forced to come home after dislocating his thumb in training.
