YOU might think racism is not a problem in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan in 2009 but each year anti-racism charity Race Equality First is contacted by people who have experienced racial discrimination in areas such as employment, housing, education and service provision.
The organisation's approach to challenging such discrimination is two-fold. Firstly its Discrimination Advice Service assists victims of racism in pursuing their cases through appropriate channels. Secondly, it offers a specific policy, training and consultation service through which it advises employers and service providers on race equality issues to help ensure that racism does not occur in the first place.See the full content of this document
