A new way to protect and nurture wild flower meadows is being promoted by the National Trust in Wales. A new machine - the first of its kind owned by the trust in Wales - is being used to collect seeds from established flower-rich hay meadows so that they can be scattered on other fields near by.

Wild flower meadows are becoming an increasingly rare sight in the countryside, and they play an important role in increasing biodiversity by supplying a rich habitat for wildlife, insects and birds.
