Summary
The price of new cars has dipped by more than 9% over the past five years but the cost of repairing vehicles has soared, it was revealed today. The average price of a new car has fallen from pounds 14,397 in June 1999 to just over pounds 13,000 in June 2004, according to an index run by Alliance & Leicester.
