Q: How does a farmer from Tregaron end up combining farming with a successful presenting career? A: I think the Young Farmers' had a lot to do with it - they provided a platform to perform, and it was encouraged. But also, I think I got it from my dad and brothers. I'm one of three brothers, and the eldest, Robin Lyn, is a professional opera singer, so performing is in the family. But I never really expected to become a presenter. After leaving Ysgol Uwchradd Treagaron, I went to study Theatre, Music and Media studies at Trinity College Carmarthen for three years and during my time there I started working as a runner on lots of different television programmes over the summer holidays, including S4C's Rasus. That's how I got my foot in the door as they say. So I'm extremely grateful for that opportunity and it's quite special for me as things have turned full circle because I'm now one of the presenters on Rasus.
Q: How do you feel about now having your own radio programme on BBC Radio Cymru? A: It's obviously very different to presenting on television, but it was a new challenge I was really looking forward to. I filled in for Daf Du for a week back in April, and loved it. Having my own show is very exciting for me - the main thing for me will be to enjoy it and hopefully the listeners will get involved and join in the chaos as well. Q: Music will obviously be a big part of the programme. What was the last gig you went to? A: It was Al Lewis. He's one of my favourite singers, and I really enjoy his music. But I've recently started listening to a young band from North Wales called Y Bandana and I'd really like to see Kings Of Leon perform live as they're one of the best bands in the world. I don't go to many gigs to be honest but I think I'll have to make more of an effort to see new artists and bands from now on.See the full content of this document
