The Government's bid to regulate the online gambling industry is not a bid to 'grab' tax revenue, Sports Minister Richard Caborn said. He insisted that the spirit of the Government's move to impose regulation on the industry was based on the 'protection of the public' and not in order to tap the vast sums currently spent by online punters in this country.
The Tories said they would be watching closely for any concrete success, and suggested that the Government was merely trying to secure a lucrative new tax stream.See the full content of this document
