PUBLIC protection officers have promised to "act very quickly" after claims that children in a Welsh market town are being "poisoned" by damaging levels of nitrogen dioxide created by traffic.

But councillors in Carmarthenshire say they are angry the Welsh Government transport minister has snubbed a request for a meeting to discuss a bypass they feel would alleviate air pollution problems in Llandeilo, famed as an idyllic hub of local produce and rural chic.
