Wedding season may have been a literal wash-out but there's one trend which the weather can't spoil... one of Wales' leading law firms is forecasting a rise in post-nuptials THE pre-nuptial has become one of the most important "musts" before the big day and hundreds of couples across Wales today make sure they get one drawn up. However, according to Welsh law firm John Collins and Partners, wealthy spouses who failed to draw up a pre-nup are now increasingly looking to protect their assets with an agreement made after their marriage regulating what should happen in the event of a divorce.

Like the pre-nup, the post-nup agreement sets out the parties' rights, obligations and liabilities upon the termination of marriage either by death or divorce. The only difference between the two marital agreements is that the post-nuptial agreement is executed some time after the parties are wed. Post-nups are most commonly used when one partner acquires a significant amount of wealth after the marriage takes place, such as an inheritance, a large business deal, or signing into a profitable partnership.
