Feeding cows a well-balanced diet can be one of the key factors in helping to reduce a common cause of lameness on Welsh dairy farms.

The main factor influencing the level of disease is cows having to walk on rough concrete surfaces and in slurry for prolonged periods. Feeding high levels of concentrates will increase the level of disease.
