Emma Thompson has it all: beauty, brains and brilliant comic timing. Little wonder she's been at the top of her game for more than 20 years.
1 Ok, so Thompson, her short-lived BBC One series, may have been the stuff of nightmares, but just about everything she did after that was worthy of a mention, including The Tall Guy, Howards End, Remains of the Day, I Am Legend, Primary Colours and her version of Sense and Sensibility, which she adapted and starred in. In recent years she's also given knockout turns in films such as Love Actually, The Boat That Rocked, Stranger Than Fiction and Brideshead Revisited.
