The future of street lighting in Wales may not be turning them off at night, as several councils have already done, but centrally- controlled dimmer-switch systems. Several cash-strapped Welsh local authorities are considering the long-term cost benefits of investing in modern lighting technologies being trialled in cities across the world. Such systems are being tested from Beijing, China, to Truro in Cornwall as municipal authorities look for ways to deal with rising energy bills and stretched budgets.See the full content of this document
