Am Dismisses Delays to Welsh Legislation As 'Unacceptable'

Summary


WELSH legislation has been left languishing for the equivalent of more than nine years while awaiting approval from Westminster, a Plaid Cymru AM said yesterday.

Under the current constitutional settlement, the National Assembly has to seek permission from Westminster before it can make its own laws in devolved areas. Legislative Competence Orders (LCOs) have to be agreed by both Houses of Parliament.
