WITH Wales so dependent on its tourism industry for employment and revenue, data on the health of the sector is, with some justification, a snapshot of the health of the wider economy.

So it's especially worrying to see today's figures, which suggest a sharp dip in visitor numbers and visitor spending in Wales in 2007 compared with the previous year.
