WELSH athletes who win medals at the Beijing Olympics will not be allowed to drape themselves in the Red Dragon, it was confirmed last night.

The decision of the Olympic organising committee in China to allow only the flags of International Olympic Committee countries into the games' venues means that national banners, such as Wales' Red Dragon would be barred.
