Wales' highest paid university official earns more than the Prime Minister, it emerged today. According to the Times Higher Education Supplement, Cardiff's vice-chancellor - effectively its chief executive - gets paid around pounds 205,000. And that equates to a 61% rise in Dr David Grant's salary over three years and 40.4% in the last of those years. A spokeswoman for the university confirmed yesterday that Dr Grant's remuneration for 2004-05 was pounds 205,000.
It makes Dr Grant's increase in salary the biggest out of all the Welsh university vice chancellors and the joint highest in the UK.See the full content of this document
