Summary
This was a sumptuous evening devoted to celebrating the Easter season through the genius of Bach. With Nicholas Kraemer conducting, at times from the keyboard, the BBC National Orchestra of Wales seemingly effortlessly made the transition into baroque musicians for this reasonably rare performance of Bach's Easter Oratorio.
The celebratory evening also included the rejoicing music of Cantatas No 50 and 31 from the composer's earlier compositions with its wonderful explosion of festive joy from the opening voices of the chorus and its three contrasting arias to its exuberant ending.See the full content of this document
