There were record sales of tickets at this year's Llangollen Eisteddfod despite the summer's poor weather. Eisteddfod officials revealed yesterday that income from tickets totalled pounds 580,000 - nearly 12% more than last year's total.
The takings - 44% up on 2005 - were helped by singers Joan Baez, Hayley Westenra and Jos Carreras drawing the crowds along with the traditional mix of choirs and costumed folk dancers and singers, according to organisers.See the full content of this document
