Summary
SIR - John Morris of Llandaff complains that God Save the Queen has been hijacked as England's rugby anthem. I am quite happy with that situation, as QE2 (whatever her other titles) is, almost everywhere, called, and seen as, 'Queen of England'. Even in Australia, whatever the constitutional position, she is more and more regarded as not being Queen of Australia.
Wales has her own anthem, and we do not require two. However, if it would make Mr Morris happy, I would have no objection to God Save being sung in Wales, provided this was done between consenting adults, in private.See the full content of this document
