Blues skipper Rhys Williams last night issued a public apology on behalf of the players for their Heineken Cup flop against Perpignan. Welsh international Williams admitted the team had let everyone down with last Saturday's 21-3 defeat at home to the French club. That drubbing has left them having to claim a bonus-point victory away to Leeds on Sunday to have any chance of making the Heineken quarter- finals as one of two best runners-up.

And, even if they were to secure maximum points at Headingley - by scoring four tries - they would still have to rely on other results going their way.
