Wales could soon follow the French example by creating an artificial sandy beach for sun-seekers to enjoy during the warm summer months. The Paris Plage project opened for the third year running last week, complete with palm trees and golden sand running for two miles along the banks of the Seine.

Now Mumbles could follow suit, because locals say the one thing the popular seaside destination lacks is a sandy beach.
