Expectant parents are more likely to redecorate the house than change their diet to prepare for a new baby, research has found. More than one-third of people redecorated the house to prepare for the birth of a baby while 14% moved home, according to a poll for the Royal College of Midwives.

This compared with 22% of men and women who adopted a healthier diet and lifestyle, and 15% who sat down and wrote a birth plan.
