The mother and brother of a murdered private detective will today meet the chairman of the Metropolitan Police Authority in their continuing search for justice.Daniel Morgan, who grew up in Wales and attended agricultural college in Monmouthshire, was killed in the car park of a London pub in 1987. His family is convinced he was murdered after discovering evidence of police corruption.

There have been four separate police investigations into the murder, the latest ending in 2003. Allegations of Metropolitan Police involvement in the murder were made at an inquest in 1988. Last year, 83 MPs signed an Early Day Motion calling for a public inquiry into the case.
