PRODUCERS are being left out of the profits of the dairy industry, an investigation of the dairy market by the National Farmers Union has confirmed.

The NFU says substantial rises in wholesale prices of major dairy commodities such as milk, cheese and cream in the UK have added up to millions of pounds in extra revenue and should have generated huge increases in returns for farmers. But NFU dairy board chairman and Pembrokeshire milk producer Mansel Raymond said farmers are last in the queue for income.
