A FEW weeks ago I wrote about the run of bad luck I was experiencing this fishing season. Well, it is still with me! I am also learning to accept that the mishaps of age are multiplied fourfold once you celebrate your 80th birthday.

I seemed to be hooking the fish quite well but then they would just spit out the hook before I had them in the net. I checked my hooks were in good order and sharpened the points. The hooks I use are usually very good, with outpoints to enhance the grip when I strike.
