Fewer Crown Post Offices Face the Axe

Summary


The Royal Mail yesterday pledged that only a handful of Crown Post Offices would close this year, despite heavy losses in the network. Chief executive David Mills wrote to MPs stressing there was no closure programme being drawn up to deal with last year's pounds 70m losses.

Fewer than five of the main offices will need to close in the current financial year, out of the current total of 555 across the UK, he said.
