SATURDAY 4 CAHILL, US MARSHAL (Five, 1.10pm) A marshal devotes more time to his job than to his teenage sons, who end up robbing the local bank in an act of rebellion. When the lawman learns the youngsters were lured into a life of crime by a notorious outlaw, the disappointed father embarks on a mission to bring them all to justice. However, his plans are ruined by the unwelcome arrival of his obnoxious brother-in-law - as well as the local wildlife. Comedy, starring John Candy and Dan Aykroyd. (1988) LAND OF THE PHARAOHS (BBC Two Wales, 2.20pm) The ruler of ancient Egypt orders the building of his tomb in the form of a colossal pyramid, a monument to his reign - but has reckoned without his ambitious queen, who is plotting to stop the pharaoh from taking his vast riches with him into the next life. Epic historical drama, with Jack Hawkins, James Robertson Justice and Joan Collins. (1955) HE'S JUST NOT THAT INTO YOU (Sky Movies Drama, 3pm) Unluckyin-love Gigi struggles to understand why she can't find the perfect man and seeks advice from a cynical-yetkindly bar tender. Meanwhile, Gigi's co-worker is unaware her husband is having a relationship with another woman. Romantic comedy, starring Ginnifer Goodwin and Justin Long. (2009) MRS DOUBTFIRE (ITV1 Wales, 3.05pm) A struggling actor's ambitious, no-nonsense wife throws him out and demands a divorce. Desperate to spend time with his kids, he puts his talents to good use by donning drag and posing as an ageing Scottish housekeeper to get a job looking after his own children. Comedy, starring Robin Williams, Sally Field, Pierce Brosnan, Harvey Fierstein and Mara Wilson. (1993) THE SHOOTIST (Five, 3.10pm) A renowned gunfighter learns he is dying of cancer and resolves to pass his last days peacefully. Renting a room from a widow, he is troubled to discover her son idolises him, while a succession of gunmen hope to lure him back to his old ways. Western, with John Wayne in his final role. (1976) ICE AGE (Five, 5.15pm) Three mismatched prehistoric animals join forces to return a human infant to its tribe - but the creatures fail to anticipate the perils and pitfalls that lay in store. Animated adventure, featuring the voices of John Leguizamo, and Ray Romano. (2002) SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE (Channel 4, 9.25pm) An uneducated teenager from the Mumbai slums is only one question away from winning India's Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? But the authorities are reluctant to believe a youngster from such a humble background could succeed without cheating, and demand an explanation. Danny Boyle's Oscar-winning drama, starring Dev Patel and Freida Pinto. (2008) FROZEN RIVER (BBC Two Wales, 11.25pm) A single mother struggles to cope after her gambling husband abandons her and takes their money. But her fortune changes when she meets another lone parent, a woman from a Mohawk reservation, who persuades her to smuggle illegal immigrants across a frozen river into America. Drama, starring Melissa Leo and Misty Upham. (2008) CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON (Channel 4, 11.45pm) A warrior resolves to hang up his sacred sword and live a life of peace - but the weapon is stolen. The swordsman and his fighting partner, who harbour a repressed love for one another, go hunting for the thief. Ang Lee's Oscar-winning drama, starring Chow Yun- Fat. (2000) ENEMY AT THE GATES (Channel 4, 1.55am) A Soviet sniper becomes a national hero during World War Two battle Stalingrad, so the Germans enlist a crack marksman of their own to deal with him. A lethal contest of wits follows, while the Russian also finds himself caught up in a love triangle with one of his friends. Drama, starring Jude Law and Rachel Weisz. (2001) SUNDAY 5 SUMMER MAGIC (BBC Two Wales, 12.15pm) A hard-up widow moves into a rambling old house where she struggles to control her numerous and quarrelsome children, as well as handle teenage anxiety when her daughter falls in love. Meanwhile, a mysterious visitor begins to take an interest in the family. Disney musical comedy, starring Hayley Mills, Burl Ives, Dorothy McGuire, Una Merkel and Michael J Pollard. (1963) BABY GENIUSES (Five, 1.50pm) Two researchers employed by the world's leading manufacturer of infant products pull out all the stops to crack the code of baby talk, as they believe it's a secret means of communication. However, the genius baby twins who are the subjects of their experiments decide not to co-operate. Comedy, with Kathleen Turner, Christopher Lloyd, Kim Cattrall, Peter MacNicol and Dom DeLuise. (1999) NINE MONTHS (Channel 4, 2.35pm) A child psychologist's wellordered world begins to fall apart when his live- in girlfriend announces she is pregnant. Not fond of children anyway, he dreads the impact a baby will make on his perfect lifestyle -and to make matters worse, their eccentric Russian obstetrician admits he's never delivered a baby before. Romantic comedy, with Hugh Grant, Julianne Moore, Jeff Goldblum, Joan Cusack, Tom Arnold and Robin Williams in a cameo role. (1995) CATS & DOGS (Five, 3.35pm) The fragile truce between warring canines and felines crumbles when a scientist looks set to find a cure for all humans who are allergic to dogs. A power-mad Persian cat plots to sabotage the invention in his battle for world domination, but a heroic puppy joins a force of canine secret agents to foil his schemes. Comedy, starring Jeff Goldblum and Elizabeth Perkins, and featuring the voices of Tobey Maguire, Alec Baldwin, Susan Sarandon and Sean Hayes. (2001) FIREFOX (Five, 5.25pm) A former air force pilot comes out of retirement for a top-secret mission - to go behind the Iron Curtain and steal a hi-tech Soviet fighter plane that is invisible to radar and equipped with a thoughtcontrolled weapons system. Cold War action adventure, directed by and starring Clint Eastwood, based on the book by Welsh author Craig Thomas. (1982) FRED CLAUS (Channel 4, 5.25pm) Santa's selfish brother Fred has been ostracised by his family for years, but when his crooked ways land him in jail, his brother comes along to bail him out on one condition - he must return to the family business and help make toys for Christmas. But far from cleaning up his act, Fred pushes Santa's patience to the limit with his far from festive attitude. Comedy, starring Vince Vaughn. (2007) XXX2: THE NEXT LEVEL (Five, 9pm) The American secretary of defence forms a covert military organisation with the aim of assassinating the president. A government spymaster is ready to foil the plot but, since his top agent is dead, he has to recruit an imprisoned soldier to help him. Action sequel, starring Ice Cube, Samuel L Jackson and Willem Dafoe. (2005) MAGICIANS (ITV1 Wales, 10.45pm) A conjuring double act comes to an end after an unfortunate accident with a guillotine. Set on separate careers, the pair become bitter rivals bent on sabotaging each other's act at any opportunity - until the prospect of winning a prestigious international contest offers the duo the incentive to bury the hatchet and join forces once again. Comedy, with David Mitchell, Robert Webb, Jessica Hynes and Peter Capaldi. (2000) WATCHMEN (Sky Movies Action/Thriller, 11.05pm) At the height of the Cold War, former superheroes driven into retirement by public outcry are confronted with the murder of one of their number. As they face the possibility of a conspiracy to eliminate them, the world edges closer to the brink of nuclear war. Sci-fi drama, based on Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons' graphic novel, starring Patrick Wilson and Jackie Earl Haley. (2009) DIMINISHED CAPACITY (Sky Movies Comedy, 11.40pm) A man suffering from memory loss pays a visit to his Alzheimer's-afflicted uncle, who is resisting efforts to put him into a care home. When the old man reveals that he owns a valuable baseball card, his nephew takes him to a memorabilia show in the hope that selling it will make him wealthy enough to be independent. Comedy, starring Matthew Broderick. (2008) SHAMPOO (Sky Movies Drama, 12am) A charismatic Beverly Hills hairdresser with a regular girlfriend beds a string of beautiful women, while also chasing a rich married woman in the hope she will help him open his own salon. Sadly, he realises too late who and what he really wants during a sex-fuelled election-night party on the eve of Nixon's becoming president. Satirical comedy starring Warren Beatty. (1975) but MONDAY 6 GHOSTS OF BERKELEY SQUARE (Channel 4, 1.40pm) Two bungling 18th-century assassins are condemned for their crimes to haunt a sprawling London mansion until a reigning monarch pays a visit. Meanwhile, other guests are convinced the ghosts are First World War spies. British supernatural comedy, starring Robert Morley, Claude Hulbert, Felix Aylmer, Wilfrid Hyde White, Ernest Thesiger, James Hayter and Yvonne Arnaud. (1947) AVALANCHE EXPRESS (Five, 3.15pm) A CIA agent uses a defecting Russian spy to lure a Soviet biological warfare scientist on board a train heading across Europe. His aim is to eliminate the expert and the threat he poses to world peace. At the same time, Russian spy- catchers are in pursuit of the defector, unaware that all their lives are in danger as blizzards begin to blow. Cold War thriller, with Robert Shaw, who died during production, Lee Marvin, Linda Evans and Maximilian Schell. (1979) THE LEGEND OF BAGGER VANCE (Sky Movies Drama, 3.30pm) The owner of an ailing golf club aims to raise money by drafting in a former golfing great and holding a high- stakes game. Unfortunately, the player soon realises his form is not what it was - but a mysterious caddy is on hand to dispense words of wisdom and common sense. Robert Redford"s drama, starring Matt Damon, Will Smith and Charlize Theron. (2000) JURASSIC PARK (Sky Movies Action/Thriller, 9pm) Scientists are given a sneak preview of a safari park inhabited by genetically engineered dinosaurs created by an eccentric tycoon. However, it all goes wrong when a greedy employee sabotages the security systems, allowing the prehistoric beasts to roam free and hunt the visitors. Steven Spielberg"s action adventure, starring Sam Neill, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, Richard Attenborough and Samuel L Jackson. (1993) WALL STREET (Sky Movies Drama, 9.40pm) An inexperienced financial trader is taken under the wing of a corrupt New York corporate raider, who draws him into the shady world of illegal insider-dealing with promises of money and power. But the trainee stockbroker questions the morality of his actions when the consequences of a deal strike close to home. Oliver Stone"s Oscar-winning drama, starring Michael Douglas, father and son Martin and Charlie Sheen, Daryl Hannah and Terence Stamp. (1987) BLADE (Five, 10pm) A half-vampire possesses all the strengths inherent in bloodsuckers with none of their weaknesses, and is determined to wipe the monsters from the face of the Earth. However, he faces a deadly new threat in a renegade vampire who is close to decoding an ancient prophecy that will allow him to repopulate the world with his kind. Action thriller, starring Wesley Snipes, Stephen Dorff and Kris Kristofferson. (1998) THE HONEYMOONERS (Channel 4, 2am) New York bus driver Ralph Kramden"s latest get- rich-quick plan leaves him and his wife penniless -and forces him to come up with an even zanier scheme to put things right. Comedy based on the 1950s American sitcom, starring Cedric the Entertainer, Mike Epps, Gabrielle Union and Regina Hall. (2005) PORCO ROSSO (Channel 4, 3.30am) A 1930s flying ace cursed with the head of a pig scrapes a living protecting ships in the Adriatic from airborne bandits. However, his daring deeds look set to come to an abrupt end when a deadly rival attempts to ground the plucky porker - permanently. Hayao Miyazaki"s animated adventure, with the voices of Shuichiro Moriyama and Tokiko Kato. (1992) TUESDAY 7 AMERICAN GUERRILLA IN THE PHILIPPINES (Channel 4, 1.25pm) A US Navy officer finds himself stranded in enemy waters after his ship is torpedoed. Unwilling to admit defeat, he sets about proving his mettle by organising members of a local resistance group to take on the marauding Japanese troops. World War Two drama, starring Tyrone Power, Micheline Presle, Tom Ewell and Tommy Cook.

Directed by Fritz Lang. (1950) ALONE (Five, 2.50pm) An elderly widower receives an offer from a Texas company wanting to buy the rights to drill for oil on his land. His nephew and their greedy wives are relishing the wealth apparently on offer - but are horrified at his unexpected refusal to sell up. Drama, starring Hume Cronyn, James Earl Jones and Shelley Duvall. (1997) BEVERLY HILLS CHIHUAHUA (Sky Movies Comedy, 4.50pm) A pampered pet dog gets separated from her owner, and is left stranded in Mexico struggling to avoid a dognapper and a ferocious Doberman, who are after her diamond collar. Luckily, a courageous German shepherd is on hand to help her get back home. Comedy, starring Piper Perabo and Jamie Lee Curtis, with the voices of Drew Barrymore and Andy Garcia. (2008) SNOW DAY (Sky Movies Comedy, 6.25pm) A New York borough is shut down during a blizzard - and a group of cheeky children steal a snowplough in a desperate attempt to ensure the roads to their school stay closed as long as possible. Meanwhile, parents all over the city struggle to work out what to do with their offspring. Comedy, starring Chris Elliott, Mark Webber, Jean Smart, Chevy Chase, Iggy Pop, Pam Grier and Zena Grey. (2000) MY SISTER'S KEEPER (Sky Movies Drama, 8pm) A couple whose daughter develops leukaemia have a second child to eventually provide an organ donor for her sister. However, as the younger child enters her teens and learns why she was born, she rejects the arrangement and hires a lawyer to get her legally separated from her parents. Drama, starring Cameron Diaz, Abigail Breslin and Alec Baldwin. (2009) THE NAKED GUN 2: THE SMELL OF FEAR (Sky Movies Comedy, 9.30pm) Blundering cop Frank Drebin discovers a secret conspiracy to kidnap a renowned solar energy expert and replace him with an imposter. As he sets out to bring the perpetrators to justice, he is unexpectedly reunited with an old flame. Slapstick comedy sequel, starring Leslie Nielsen, Priscilla Presley, George Kennedy, Richard Griffiths and OJ Simpson. (1991) TROPIC THUNDER (Sky Movies Action/Thriller, 10.30pm) Director Damien Cockburn's epic Vietnam picture is behind schedule and over budget. Taking the advice of the grizzled war veteran on whose life the film is based, he drops the actors into a jungle with the intention of filming them fighting guerrillastyle - but the cast is unaware the surrounding warfare is for real. Comedy, directed by and starring Ben Stiller, with Jack Black, Steve Coogan and, in an Oscar- nominated role, Robert Downey Jr. (2008) ANALYZE THIS (ITV1 Wales,10.35pm) A stressed mobster is plagued by anxiety attacks that leave him incapable of killing. When a car crash brings him into contact with a psychiatrist, he thinks he has found the solution to his problems. Naturally, the horrified shrink is reluctant to be drawn into the world of organised crime - especially when the gangster starts to intrude on his personal life, and the FBI try to recruit him as a mole. Comedy, with Robert De Niro and Billy Crystal. (1999) WEDNESDAY 8 DEAD POETS SOCIETY (Sky Movies Drama, 8.15am) A charismatic English teacher at a New England prep school in the 1950s raises eyebrows among his strait-laced colleagues by encouraging the students to live life beyond their expectations. Unfortunately, the boys find their families and the rest of the teaching staff are not so understanding about their desire to follow their dreams. Peter Weir's drama, starring Robin Williams, Robert Sean Leonard, Ethan Hawke, Josh Charles and Gale Hansen. (1989) WAKE OF THE RED WITCH (Channel 4, 1.20pm) A shipowner and his embittered captain engage in a battle of wills as they fight for the love of the same woman and embark on a quest for a treasure chest of pearls hidden in the den of an octopus in the South Seas. Romantic seafaring adventure, starring John Wayne, Luther Adler, Gig Young, Gail Russell and Adele Mara. (1949) TWO AGAINST TIME (Channel Five, 3.05pm) A mother vows to do whatever it takes to bring her children up to be as strong as herself. However, she faces the biggest challenge of her life when both she and her rebellious teenage daughter are told they have cancer. As they battle the disease, the pair draw closer, gaining strength from one another. Fact-based drama, starring Marlo Thomas, Ellen Muth and Peter Friedman. (2002) THE ROAD TO EL DORADO (Sky Movies Comedy, 4.20pm) Two Spanish conmen head off into the wide blue yonder on a quest to discover the legendary City of Gold, but soon find themselves in the enviable position of being worshipped as gods by the natives - much to the displeasure of a local priest. Animated musical adventure, with the voices of Kevin Kline, Kenneth Branagh, Rosie Perez, Armand Assante and Edward James Olmos, and featuring a soundtrack by Elton John. (2000) NOTORIOUS (Sky Movies Drama, 10.15pm) Biopic of Notorious B.I.G., whose rise to fame took him from being a Brooklyn street hustler and crack dealer to become a respected and influential rap artist, before he was brutally murdered at the age of 24. Starring Jamal Woolard, Derek Luke, Dennis LA White and Angela Bassett. (2009) THE PERFECT STORM (BBC1 Wales, 12.10am) The skipper of a swordfishing boat and his crew ignore severe weather warnings and head for fishing grounds in a dangerous area of the North Atlantic in search of the last lucrative catch of the season, but end up fighting for survival in the worst storm of the 20th century. Fact- based disaster drama, with George Clooney, Mark Wahlberg, Diane Lane, John C Reilly and Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio. (2000) OLDBOY (Channel 4, 1.20am) A man is abducted and locked away in a small room for 15 years then suddenly set free, with no explanation for why he was incarcerated. Bewildered and disorientated, he struggles to adapt to his new-found freedom, but vows to find out what has become of his family and who his captors were so he can mete out his own brand of revenge. Korean thriller, directed by Park Chan-wook, starring Choi Min-sik, Gang Hye-jung and Yu Ji-tae. (2003) THE COWBOY WAY (ITV1 Wales, 2.35am) Two rodeo riders travel to New York in search of their friend, who was in the city for a reunion with his daughter. However, when their pal winds up dead, the swaggering duo set about finding the missing girl and tracking down her father's killers in typical Wild West fashion. Action comedy, starring Woody Harrelson, Kiefer Sutherland and Dylan McDermott. (1994) THURSDAY 9 THE LAST WAGON (Channel 4, 1.30pm) A mixed-race renegade convicted for the murder of his wife's killers is forced to lead a group of orphaned children to safety after they survive an attack on their wagon train by Apache raiders. Western, with Richard Widmark, Felicia Farr, Ray Stricklyn and Susan Kohner. (1956) WISHING WELL (Five, 3.10pm) A shallow journalist is sent to write a feature article about a supposedly magic wishing well in a far-off town. However, she finds her life transformed when she returns home to find no one from her past remembers her. Fantasy drama, starring Jordan Ladd, Ernest Borgnine, Tempestt Bledsoe and Sally Kellerman. (2009) THE DEAL (Sky Movies Comedy, 3.40pm) A film producer agrees to make his nephew's script for a historical drama about Disraeli, only to end up turning it into an action movie. Production grinds to a halt when the leading man is kidnapped, forcing the producer to take desperate measures to secure his freedom and complete the shoot. Comedy, starring William H Macy and Meg Ryan. (2008) CADILLAC RECORDS (Sky Movies Drama, 4pm) Musical biopic charting the formation of Chess records in 1950s Chicago and the artists who passed through its doors, including Etta James, Muddy Waters, Little Walter and Howlin' Wolf. Starring Adrien Brody, Beyonce Knowles, Jeffrey Wright and Gabrielle Union.
