Once the Biggest Foe of Gwynfor, Ex-Labour Mp Aids Poll Bid by Plaid Son ; Gwynoro Recalls Bitter Battles in the Bubbling Cauldron of Carmarthen
In 1970 he ousted Mr Evans from the seat he had won at the famous 1966 by-election, retaining it in the first of the two 1974 general elections with a majority of just three votes. In October 1974, Mr Evans won the seat back.
