Former Wrexham boss Denis Smith wants to get back into football management... but admits "my wife thinks I'm crackers". It is virtually 12 months to the day since Smith left the Dragons, the former Sunderland and Oxford manager's five-year spell at the Racecourse ending after the 3-1 FA Cup defeat at Derby.

Twelve months on, Smith will be fulfilling media commitments at Stoke, the club for whom he played nearly 500 league games between 1968 and 1982, for their third-round tie with Newcastle.
