MATTHEW MAYNARD CRICKET MANAGER The Glamorgan batting legend who became the club's cricket manager wanted Jamie Dalrymple as his captain and Mark Cosgrove as his overseas next season. But when the deal was done without his knowledge to recruit South African batsman Alviro Petersen as Glamorgan captain for 2011, Maynard felt his position was untenable.
JAMIE DALRYMPLE CAPTAIN Persuaded to leave Middlesex by Matthew Maynard at the end of the 2007 season, Dalrymple took over the captaincy for 2009 and was named the club's player of the year later that summer.
