THREE men started prison sentences yesterday after pleading guilty to selling bones from corpses, which led to patients from Wales undergoing surgery with stolen tissue.
Dentist Michael Mastromarino, 44, who cut up corpses, including that of veteran BBC broadcaster Alistair Cooke, at New York funeral homes before selling them to tissue graft companies, was sentenced to between 25 and 58 years in prison. Brothers Louis and Gerald Garzone, who provided bodies from a pair of funeral homes and a crematorium they ran in Philadelphia, will serve eight to 20 years.See the full content of this document
