CONSENT has been given to build a gas pipeline to serve a power station being built on the outskirts of Newport.

Severn Power, which is building the 850MWgas turbine power station, will start work on the pipeline immediately and the company says it will use the latest below-ground techniques designed to minimise the impact on the environment.
