MORE than a quarter of the average council tax bill goes on paying council workers' pensions, figures obtained by the Welsh Conservatives reveal today.
Amid concerns about budget cuts and threats to local jobs and services, it has been confirmed that the cost of council workers' pensions in Wales was pounds 354.8m in 2007-8. The figure does not include pensions for teachers, police and firefighters.See the full content of this document
