THERE was mixed fortunes for the Welsh boxers on the first day of competition in the Talkatora Indoor stadium.
Middleweight Kieron Harding defeated Ghana's Habib Ahmed 5-1 in the 75kg qualification bout, but light welterweight Chris Jenkins was the first of the nine-strong Welsh squad to be eliminated after bowing out when he was defeated 7-0 by Louis Colin.
