SIR - As chairman of District A, I feel it necessary to question some statements in Andy Howell's article, "Election failure in Steve Lewis board bid" (Western Mail, 3 September 2008).
Firstly - on the suggestion there were high-profile figures present at the meeting who had participated in a heavyweight campaign to ensure the re-election of Ken Hewitt - to my knowledge, there was no heavyweight campaign.
