Hope for Camp Delta Brits

Summary


Britain's last remaining Guantanamo Bay detainees were last night given hope they would be freed within weeks. Foreign Secretary Jack Straw announced that following 'intensive and complex' discussions with the US, the four men held at Camp Delta will be returned to Britain to face questioning.

It emerged that the Pentagon had received 'a number of security assurances' from Britain about the detainees' transfer, but spokesmen on both sides of the Atlantic declined to reveal details.
