The latest house price index released today - one of the first of the New Year - shows house prices in Wales fell by 3.8% from December to January. Property agency Rightmove says the average house in Wales now costs pounds 173,636, down from pounds 180,409 in December.
The fall is more pronounced than in the rest of the UK where prices fell on average by 0.8% to pounds 230,428.See the full content of this document

Cardiff saw the biggest fall of 5.1% to leave the average house in the capital worth pounds 205,014 while prices dropped 1.1% in Newport to pounds 158,189.
