Summary
Welsh scientists have been forced to study otters killed on our roads because of the scarcity of the real thing. Researchers at Cardiff University have been studying the diet and environment of otters by examining the bodies of those killed on local roads. Almost 1,000 carcasses have been subject to post-mortem examinations over the last 13 years.
One discovery which was made this way is that the lead levels in otters has decreased since the early 90s, when lead in car fuel was banned.See the full content of this document
