Summary
HOW much progress do we think Wales has made, now that we have seen the team take world champions South Africa all the way to the brink last Sunday? I thought Wales played to a higher level of intensity and accuracy than in any one individual match in either of the two Grand Slams of 2005 or 2008.
We have definitely advanced. To get parity with South Africa in the line-outs, scrums and drop-outs was a major step forward. Although Wales beat Australia to take third place in the inaugural Rugby World Cup in 1987 in New Zealand, you probably have to go back to the mid-1970s to see a Welsh team perform at that level.See the full content of this document
